Board Member Sorrell seconded the motion. The rnotion to -approve the minutes carried 5:0. Applicant: Lem.oine Disaster Recovery for LeAnna Taylor Location: 3370 Edmonds Avenue Mrs. Engman presented the staff report. Lemoine Disaster Recovery, on behalf of LeAnna Taylor, homeowner 5 is requesting a Variance to the property located at 3370 Edmonds Avenue. fhe property is zoned RM-H (Residential Multiple Family - Highest Density) district and therefore requires a 5 building setback from the side -property line. The Variance will accommodate the sidewalk to be flush to the required ADA ramp. The applicant could not apply for a reasonable acconmiodation as the property owner is not disabled nor resides with disabled person(s). BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT July 7,2022 Lemoine Disaster Recovery is a company which has participated in the General Land Office (Cl L 0 ) Disaster Recovery Progran-i to facilitate building structurally sound homes and mitigate future flooding hazards for citizens' homes that have been affected by natural. disasters. One response was received in favor and zero were received in opposition. Brief discussion followed concerning similar projects in the neighborhood. The public hearing was opened on this item. Florence Mayhall -Andrews, 2798 Houston Street, addressed the Board. She stated that she owns 3345 P Glenwood Street and that she received a property owner notice concerning the case. She added that she came to find out what the request was about. After an explanation from Chairman Timacus about the rcquest, Ms. Mayliall-Andrews stated that she had no objections. Alexandra Pallis, representing Lenioine Disaster Recovery, 1256 Gulf Freeway, I louston, TX, addressed the Board. She stated that the homeowner is excited to coniplete the dell-Iolition and rebuilding of the home through the GLO program and that the variance is required to complete the project in order to meet the requirements for an ADA ramp. Discussion followed concerning the specifics of the variance and its future implications. Board Mcniber Beaver moved to approve the request for a variance to the required side yard setback to be reduced from 5'to 2',, as requested in File PZ2022-196. Board Member Hilli-ard seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken. Chairman Timaeus-Aye, Board Mcmber Beaver -Aye, Board Member Hilliard -Aye, Board Member Rowe -Aye, Board Member Sorrell -Aye.
