Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a variance of the minimum allowable setback for a detached owner identification sign of 10' to 3'. FILE: 503-BA STAFF RE' PORT Joe Palermo is requesting a variance of the setback requirement for an owner identification sign at his new insurance office location at 555 N. 10"'. The sign support would be 3' from the property line instead of the required 10'. The overall dimensions of the sign would be 4' x 15' with a sign face of 4'x 7'. Mr. Palermo originally wished to put the sign in front of the building. However, due to the proximity of the building to the front property line, there was not enough room to put it there. He then decided to put it in the parking lot. The applicant shall have the burden of proof to demonstrate that all three conditions necessary for approval have been met. Exhibits are attached.
