City Council Chambers
A meeting of the Board of Adjustment was held on December 7, 1989 with the
following members present:
Chairman Milton Bell
Board Member Jayne Eisen
Board Member Ron Lanier
Board Member Whit Outlaw
Board Member Bettye Smith
Board Member Charles Thompson
Board Member absent: Gerald Farha.
Also present: Kirt Anderson, Planning Director; Murray Duren, Sr.
Planner; Edmund Petry, Planner; and Tyrone Cooper, First
Assistant City Attorney.
Board Member Smith made the motion to approve the minutes of the
August 24, 1989 Public Hearing. Board Member Thompson seconded the
motion.
Motion to approve carried 5:0.
WORKSHOP
1. Kirt Anderson introduced the new member of the Board -- Jayne M. Eisen.
2) Adoption of the 1990 Board of Adjustment Calendar: Board Member
Thompson made the motion to approve the Board of Adjustment Calendar

Workshop
for 1990 meeting dates and submittal deadline dates. Meetings are scheduled
to begin at 2:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. The motion was
seconded by Board Member Smith.
Motion to approve carried 5:0.
3) Murray Duren briefly reviewed The Zoning Board Manual by Frederick H.
Bair, Jr. Copies of the book were distributed to the members of the Board.
4) Edmund Petry distributed handouts describing the process for securing
Specific Use Permits within the City of Beaumont. A detailed discussion
followed.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
