PUBLIC HEARING
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
June 2/ 1988

A meeting of the Board of Adjustment was held on June 2, 1988 with the following
members present:
Chairman Milton Bell
Board Member Ron Lanier
Board Member Bettye Smith
Board Member Whit Outlaw
Board Members absent: Preston Shaw, Gerald Farha and Charles Thompson.
Also present: Kirt Anderson, Planning Director, Murray Duren, Sr. Planner,
Tyrone Cooper, First Assistant City Attorney and Walterine Brown/ Recording
Secretary.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Board Member Smith made a motion to approve the minutes of March 3, 1988.
Seconded by Board Member Lanier.
Vote carried 4-0.
FILE 332-BA. Consider a'special exception to reduce the required 5-ft. side
yard setback to 1.9-ft. for an attached carport at 232 W. Caldwood Drive.
Staff recommended approval of the special exception based on: The applicant's
compliance with condition (b) (6) of Sec. 30-37E.2., which allows yard exception
for side lot lines, the adjacent and neighboring property will not be adversely
effected and the special exception will not be contrary to the best public
interest.
SPEAKING IN FAVOR OF THIS REQUEST
None
Board Member Smith made a motion to approve the special exception.
Chairman Bell added the condition that neither the existing nor the proposed
carport will be enclosed with side walls.

Vote carried 4-0.
