members present:
Chairman Milton Bell
Commissioner Ron Lanier
Commissioner Charles Thompson
Commissioner Gerald Farha
Commissioner Bettye Smith
Commissioners absent: Joseph Outlaw and Preston Shaw.
Staff present: Kirt Anderson, Senior Planner/Landscape Architect, Walteri ne
Brown, Recording Secretary and Tyrone Cooper, Assistant City Attorney.

' APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes for March 20, 1987 were approved.
Commissioner Smith made a motion to approve the minutes.
Seconded by Commissioner Thompson.
Vote carried 5-0.
FILE 319-BA, Request for a special exception to reduce the required setback
from 25 feet to 7 feet located at 785 Randolph and described as lot 14, Block
2, Dowlen West Addition, Beaumont, Texas.
The staff is recommending denial of the special exception based on the following:
to grant a special exception would adversely affect adjacent properties an d
would be contrary to the public interest.
