BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
January 7, 1988
CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS
CITY HALL, BEAUMONT, TEXAS
2:00 P.M.
A meeting of the Board of Adjustment was held on January 7, 1988 with the
following members present:
Chairman Milton Bell
Board Member Preston Shaw
Board Member Charles Thompson
Board Member Gerald Farha
Commissioners absent: Whit Outlaw and Bettye Smith.
Also present: Kirt Anderson, Acting Planning Director, Tyrone Cooper, First
Assistant City Attorney, Murray Duren, Planner and Walterine Brown, Recording
Secretary.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Board Member Shaw made a.motion to approve the minutes of December 3, 1987.
Seconded by Board Member Farha.
Vote carried 4-0.
File 330-BA. Consider a variance or a special exception to reduce the front
yard ten foot setback for a sign to five foot at 195 IH-10 North.
The staff recommended approval based on: 1) compliance with special condition
30.37E.2 (b) which allows the exception of corner lots 2) would not adversely
affect the value or use of any of the adjacent properties 3) would not conflict
or propose a hazard to the public interest.
SPEAKING IN FAVOR OF THIS REQUEST
David Bralow
Board Member Farha wanted to abstain in voting due to a conflict of interest
in this case.
Chairman Bell reschedule this case until February 4, 1988 due to a lack of
a quorum voting.
