City Council Chambers
A meeting of the Board of Adjustment was held on May 3, 1990 with the following
members present:
Chairman Milton Bell
Board Member Jayne Eisen
Board Member Gerald Farha
Board Member Ron Lanier
Board Member Whit Outlaw
Board Member Bettye Smith
Board Member Charles Thompson
Board Members absent: None.
Also present: Kirt Anderson, Planning Director; Murray Duren, Sr.
Planner; Tyrone Cooper, First Assistant City Attorney; Ilona
Baker, Planning Drafting Technician and Fred Lemell,
Building Codes Development Coordinator.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Board Member Lanier made the motion to approve the minutes of the
April 5, 1990 Public Hearings. Board Member Eisen seconded the motion.
The motion to approve carried unanimously.
PUBLIC HFARiNG
1) Planning Division File #343-BA: A request for a Special Exception from
the front yard requirements where the actual front yard setback of an
abutting lot does not meet the front yard requirements. Applicant is Chula
Vista Restaurant, 1135 North Eleventh Street.
Staff recommended approval of the Special Exception to the provisions of
the yard requirements of Section 30-25 B.2. allowed under Section 30-37
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
May 3, 1990

E.2.(b)(1). The application met and complied with the conditions of
approval for granting of the exception.

Staff Analysis was presented by Murray Duren, Sr. Planner. Nine notices
were issued to surrounding property owners. One response in favor of
granting the Special Exception was received.

Board Member Thompson made the motion to approve the granting of the
Special Exception as recommended by staff. The motion was seconded by
Board Member Lanier.
Motion to grant the variance carried 4:4.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
