Home My WebLink About10-10-91 BA Minutes*MINUTES*' BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT October 10, 1991 City Council Chambers A meeting of the Board of Adjustment was held on October 10, 1991 with the following members present: Chairman Milton Bell Board Member Jayne Eisen Board Member Gerald Farha Board Member Ron Lanier Board Member Bill Lucas Board Member Bettye Smith Board Members absent: Whit Outlaw, Kevin Fuller and Charles Thompson. Also present: Kirt Anderson, Planning Director and Carla Gigliotta, Recording Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Board Member Smith made the motion to approve the minutes of the June 6, 1991 Public Hearing. Board Member Lucas seconded the motion. The motion to approve carried 5:0. PUBLIC HEARING File #346-BA: Consider the request for a special exception from Danny Daniels, Administrator of the City of Beaumont Housing Services, representing the Beaumont Housing Finance Corporation, for a special exception to vary the yard requirements of a residential corner lot. Located: 1095 Sherman. Staff recommended approval because the property is a corner lot, will not adversely affect adjacent or neighboring property and the exception will not be contrary to the public interest. BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT October 10, 1991 Public Hearing Speaking in Favor of this Request Danny Daniels City of Beaumont Beaumont, TX Speaking in Opposition of this Request None. (Arrival of Board Member Farha). Mr. Anderson advised the Board that in granting the request they must male the following findings, the special exception will not adversely affect the value and use of the adjacent or neighboring property and the special exception will not be contrary to the best public interest. Eighteen notices were mailed to property owners within two -hundred feet of the subject property. Staff received no responses. Board Member Lanier made the motion to grant the special exception as recommended by staff. The motion was seconded by Board Member Lucas. Motion to grant the variance carried 6:0. THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED 2
