The following Commissioners were present: Chairman Mary Jane Buttrill Commissioner Terrence Holmes Commissioner Walter Sutton Commissioner Dorcy Watler Commissioner JoAnn Stiles(arrived at 3:40 p.m) Commissioner Jessica Foy Commissioner Raymond Chaison The following Commissioners were absent: Commissioner Elmer Embs Commissioner Bruce Hamilton Commissioner Debra Kay Johnson Commissioner Sam Pullig Commissioner Becki Stedman Staff present: Stephen Richardson, Secretary; Murray Duren, Senior Planner; Patsy Ellis, Recording Secretary; Bonnie Semien, Planning Technician. Also present: Councilman -at -Large Andrew Cokinos; Councilman Lulu Smith; Carolyn Howard, Beaumont Main Street. REGULAR MEETING 1) File CA-76: Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the construction of an addition to the rear of an existing single family structure. Location: 2490 Evalon Applicant: Sierra Homes - Lee Guseman Stephen Richardson stated that the existing single family building was built in the early 1960's and is not considered one of historical significance, The property owner wishes to construct a master bedroom and bathroom onto the rear of the house. The MINUI'E?s Landmark Commission Special Meeting August 29, 1994 new roof will be an exterior of the addition will match the existing exterior and the roof line be an extension of the existing roof line. The entire roof will be reshingled so the roof will be the same color. The entire rear of the property is surrounded by a privacy screening fence and the only portion that will be seen from the street is the eave and the roof. Staff recommends approval of this addition. Slides of the existing structure were shown. Lee Guseman, Sierra Homes, spoke in favor of the request. Mr. Guseman stated that the addition consisted of a master bedroom and bathroom to the rear of the house. He stated that from the front of the house the additions will not be seen. The structure will be re -roofed to give it consistency with the rest of the roof. A motion was made by Commissioner Waller to accept staffs recommendation and award the Certificate of Appropriateness. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Chaison. The motion carried 7:0. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
