Cokinos Councilmember Lulu Smith Staff present: Steve Richardson, Planning Manager; Nancy Nicholas, Recording Secretary; Cheryl Robinson, Senior Planner; Adina Abshire, Planning Technician ROLL CALL PUBLIC HEARING 1) FILE 99-TE-13: Request for approval of a tax exemption for property in the Crockett Street Urban Entertainment District. Location: 232, 240, 260 and 298 Crockett Applicant: Crockett Street Development, Ltd. Hisloric Landmark Commission December 18, 2002 Mr. Steve Richardson presented the staff report. On February 11, 2002, the Historic Landmark Commission voted to recommend to City Council approval of a full tax exemption on improvements made to 232, 240, 260 and 298 Crockett. On February 19, 2002, City Council voted to approve the tax exemption. The final step in the tax exemption process is for the Historic Landmark Commission to verify that the restoration work is substantially completed. The Commission will tour the buildings during the meeting. Once the Commission verifies the work, the Planning Manager will notify the Tax Appraisal District. Mr. Richardson asked to recess the meeting in order to inspect the Crockett Street property. The meeting was recessed at 3:45 P.M. Chairman Richardson reconvened the meeting at 4:45 P.M. Discussion followed concerning the various establishments and improvements. Chairman Richardson opened the public hearing. There being no one to speak, the public hearing was closed. Chairman Richardson asked for a motion on File 99-TE-13. Commissioner Shelton made a motion to approve a tax exemption for property in the Crockett Street Urban Entertainment District at 232, 240, 260 and 298 Crockett Street.
