Abescoe Club Collection, 1949-1960s
DESCRIPTION
On May 23, 1949, a new Abescoe Club was formed at a meeting at the Edson Hotel in Beaumont, Texas.
This club of Bethlehem Shipyard employees took its name from "A Better Social Club of Employees"
and was created to promote social activities for employees of the company. This small collection
includes "Abescoe News" newsletters from 1949-1958 (not inclusive) as well as approximately 400
photographs of club activities.
