STAFF REPORT
Boyd Meier, Building Official, requests a Certificate of Demolition for the house located at 2460
Gladys Avenue. According to the inspection report, this structure was originally tagged as
substandard structure on December 11, 2023 after multiple code violations were discovered. The
roof is damaged, rotten interior walls, and is considered unsafe for human occupancy. There-'s
been multiple changes of ownership and multiple work programs enrollment with no progress
made from the initial tagging of the structure.
Based on the extensive repairs needed for this structure the Building Codes Staff is
recommending approval ofthe raze order.
The home is not listed in the SPARE Beaumont Survey.
Planning staff recommends approval of this request.

DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY: Structure was in a recent work program,
but has failed to make progress. The contractor encountered a major
problem after gutting the interior; the rear wall was originally built
incorrectly, with no structural support. The roof is resting directly on the
exterior brick wall. That, added to the other violations that exist in this
vacant building means rehabilitating would take a large amount of labor and
resources. Based on the extensive work that would be needed to bring
this property back to minimum requirements, rements, and a lack of proper
attempt by the owners to rectify the situation, staff 'i's recommending a
