FILE: PZ2024-251 STAFF REPORT Jedca Landry is requesting approval of a Specific Use Permit to allow a halfway house located at ZZ25Wilson Street. She intends toprovide housing independent adults offering services and activities iotheir clients. The State has required Ms. Landry toreceive approval from the City 10allow ahalfway house at2225Wilson Street. Our ordinances require ahalfway house to obtain aSpecific Use Permit. It should be noted that halfway homes require careful consideration oftheir location and surrounding land uses. Some ofthese considerations include compatibility with other land uses, noise, and traffic aswell assafety considerations. As such, proximity to parks, schools and residential uses should be carefully considered in review ofhalfway honnes. This property islocated within six (6)blocks, approximately 2500 feet, ofthe Jones -Clark Elementary School, it is within an existing residential neighborhood and in close proximity to several existing churches.
