HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 24-107RESOLUTION NO.24-107 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: WHEREAS, CASA of Southeast Texas Inc., has requested permission from. the City of Beaumont to serve alcohol during the "Justice is Served" a non-profit event; and, WHEREAS, operation of alcohol serving would be limited to the "Justice is Served" non- profit evens: in and around the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens of Beaumont to allow the limited and temporary use of serving alcohol at the Beaumont Municipal Telmis Center commencing on May 3, 2024, and ending on May 5, 2024, in conjunction with the "Justice is Served" non-profit event; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C���L�I�Ir�►��is�� �r �ero[r!r�`C�a�: �.�ihi�i�,r_� THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in all things, approved and adopted; and, THAT the limited and temporary use of sewing alcohol during the "Justice is Served" non-profit event on City property located at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center conuilencing on May 3, 2024, and ending May 5, 2024, is hereby authorized. In the past this llcm Toni Mulvaney event has been a gala style event, This year we are transitioning away from the Senn Vinerytraditional gala to a ickleball tournament. This fundraiser is our only scheduled Samuel � p y Angela Clavijo fundraiser of the year. The funds raised at this event are used throughout the Honorary Board year to support our mission advocating for children in the family court Nlembers system. We will have a pickleball brunch and two days of tournament play. We SwaMaloneyks ne Lauren Mo Suzawould like to be able to serve alcohol at our event at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center. We will utilize a caterer to obtain a liquor permit for the event, if allowed. CASA of Southeast Texas would like to request a waiver from City Council to allow alcohol to be served at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center during our event on the dates of May 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
