STAFF REPORT
The Port of Beaumont requests the blocks surrounded by Buford, Port, Lamar, Herring, Stewart
and LeiperSt[eets including lots approximately 160Y south of Larnar Street to be rezoned from
RM-H (Residential Multiple Family- Highest Density) to PD (Port Development) District. They
intend to develop the site to accommodate truck queing, cargo storage and workforce
development to increase efficiency of operations and adjust to the growing infrastructure
needs associated with moving good and services toand from the Port. This request aligns
with the interlocal agreement between the Port of Beaumont and the City of Beaumont
executed byResolution No. 23-01S\nJanuary of2OZ3.
Staff recommends approval of the request.

The Port of Beaumont is requesting that Port -owned property bound by Buford, Carroll, Port and
Schwarner streets be rezoned as "Port District" for various operational uses, such as, but not limited to,
truck queuing and cargo storage.
This rezoning request is1naccordance with City of Beaumont Resolution No. 23-015 wherein the City of
Beaumont and the Port of Beaumont executed an iniedoca| agreement to exchange lands the city to
abandon or otherwise convey real property, and the City to zone Part -owned property as shown therein.
