STAFF REPORT
Saurabh D. Soni requests approval for a Specific Use Permit to allow a drinking place located at
2550 Interstate 20 East. E| Fuego will be a bar and lounge with operational hours of3prn to
2anm Monday to Sunday. Services provided are live music, full bar and hookah. The owner
intends to provide security by a camera system, three (3) armed security officers, and an
identification check system. He intends to staff eight (8) to ten (10) employees to run the
business.
/nconsideration ofsafety, Bllreports indicate from January 1, 2020 to March 28, 2023,there
have been two -hundred nineteen (219) calls made in relation to the suites vvbh1n the Town
Center Shops Plaza. According to City records, suite 2550 Interstate lO East has been o bar
since 2007 and ceased operations sometime between 2030-2021. During this time, 911
reports indicate approximately half ofthe calls were made in association with this particular
suite esadrinking place. Additionally, abar atthis location appears tobeanincompatible use
due to proximity to families in multiple apartments and single family homes to the north.
Planning staff recommends denial of the request.
Please note that final occupancy approval is subject to review and acceptance of submitted
plans and field inspections to verify compliance with applicable codes.
