HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 23-090RESOLUTION NO. 23-090 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont was awarded the Homeland Security Grant (SHSP) in the amount of $46,000.00, which is being dedicated to erect fencing around the Police Department to further eliminate foot traffic; and, WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the installation of a fence at the Police Department; and, WHEREAS, A-1 American Fence Inc., of Lake Charles, Louisiana submitted the lowest bid of $50,350.00; and, WHEREAS, a local match of $4,350.00 will come from the Police Department budget; and, WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by A-1 American Fence Inc., of Lake Charles, Louisiana, in the amount of $50,350.00 should be accepted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in all things, approved, and adopted; and, THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a contract with A--1 American Fence, Inc., of Lake Charles, Louisiana for the installation of a fence at the Police Department in the amount of $50,350.00. The agreement is substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit "A," and made a part hereof for all purposes. The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
