STAFF REPORT
Applicant, |raida 8arahona is requesting a Certificate ofAppropriateness for m new accessory
building to be constructed at 2500 Harrison Avenue. It will match the original structure, which
was demolished due to life safety hazards and extreme dilapidation.
The proposed accessory building will be approximately one thousand (1000) s,q. ft. in size. The
structure will have two (2) stories, and will feature hardy plank twelve (12) by eight and one
fourth (8 Y4) inch siding. The structure will be painted yellow to match the existing color
Scheme of the main structure. The roof will be made of black architectural shingles and the
windows will be one -over -one vinyl with white trim.
Planning staff recommends approval subject to the following conditions:
1. All appropriate permits must be obtained through the Building Codes department.
This house is listed in the 1991SPARE Beaumont Survey. SPARE states this house was
built in 1830and 1safine example ofSpanish Eclectic architecture build for the upper
middle class jnBeaumont 1nthe post-Spind|etoptwo years.
