BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
WHEREAS, the City Council and the Board of Trustees of the Beaumont
Independent School District have agreed to meet on a minimum of two (2) meetings per
year instead of quarterly, to discuss items of mutual benefit or concern;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are
hereby, in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Council has agreed to meet with the Board of Trustees of the
Beaumont Independent School District on at least a quarterly basis for the above
referenced purpose.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.

Concerning Joint Meetings

Executive Summary: The Board of Trustees and City of Beaumont City Council conducted a joint
meeting and goal setting session on November 7, 2022. During the meeting, a request was made for the Joint
Resolution to be amended from quarterly meetings to a minimum of two meetings per year. The proposed
Resolution was amended by E31SUs, counsel and the city Attorney and adopts the proposal from the November
71 2022 meeting stating, "joint meetings should be scheduled on mutually agreeable dates and locations at
intervals determined ined by the City Manager and the S perintendent with no less than two joint meetings per
calendar year."

JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE BEAUMONT INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD
OF TRUSTEES AND CITY OF BEAUMONT CITY COUNCIL CONCERNING JOINT
MEETINGS
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont City Council and the Board of Trustees of the
Beaumont Independent School District desire to conduct joint meetings to discuss items of
mutual benefit or concern.
WHEREAS, both entities are subject to the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas
Government Cade Chapter 551.
WHEREAS, joint meetings should be
