SUBJL, CT: Consider a request for a Specific Use Permit to allow the expansion of a church in a
GC-MD-2 (General Commercial Multi -Family Dwelling-2) District.

Derick Leger, on behalf of New Faith Holiness Church, Inc., requests a Specific Use Permit to
expand the church located at 5250 Helbig Road. The GCMD-2 zoning district requires a
Specific Use Permit for all proposed land uses. Mr. Leger intends to install a premanufactured
building for a fellowship hall and increase the size of the parking lot. Section 28.04.006 of the
City's landscaping ordinances states, "an increase in the size of an existingporking lot by
Nyen ty-eve (25) percent in the nuinber ofl)arking spaces or inore shall require the entiri-king
lot, in addition to the twenty—five (25) pe7-cent expansion, to be brought into coinpliance m4th this
section." The hours of operation will be Wednesdays from 6:30am to 9:00pm, Thursdays from
9:00am to 2:00pm, and Sundays from 10-30am to 2:00pm.
Staff recommends approval of the request with the following conditions:
1. Construction plans in meet all requirements by Water Utilities for any water and
sanitary sewer improvements, including any requirements of the City's backflow,
Pre-treatment, and/or F.O.G. program.
2. Construction plans shall be in compliance with Section 28.04.006 Landscaping and
screening requirements
3. Construction plans must meet all Building Codes requirements.
Please note that final occupancy approval is subject to review and acceptance of submitted plans
and field inspections to verify compliance with applicable codes.
