Currently, the roof appears to be brown in color and the material appears to be made of composition shingles. Hewishes to replace the roof with r-panel galvanized metal. Please see example of the proposed roof located in your packets. Section 28.03.018 Historic -Cultural Landmark Preservation Overlay District (g)(M)(i) states "'RoofmcIterials and colors must complementthe style and overall color scheme of the building o/ structure —composition shingle, cedar shingle, and metal roofing materials may be perrn|tied." Mr. Smith intends to replace the metal roof to both the main structure and to the rear garage apartment. Staff recommends approval ofthe request. The house isnot listed lnthe SPARE survey.
