SUBJECT: A request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to paint a house.

STAFF REPORT
The homeowner, Chris Ellebracht, requests permission to paint the exterior of the structure at
2226 Hazel Avenue. The proposed body color will be Behr M350-4 Sweet Grass. The trim color
will be Behr S470-7 Undersea and the accent color to be Behr M280-1 Twinkling Lights. Paint
swatch samples are located in your packet.
Staff recommends approval of the request.
The house is listed in the 1990 SPARE survey. SPARE states that the house was built in 1911.
The house is an example of middle cllass housing built in Beaumont after the first Spindletop
boom.

One story frame structure. Gable front roof with overhanging eaves and exposed rafters. Asphalt shingles to
simulate ceramic the with horns at the peaks and elbow brackets. Exterior brick chimney. Louvered vent on gable.
shed roof porch covered with tar paper supported by four Doric columns. Two eight -over -one sash with shutters on
either side of a wood and glass panel door. Wood porch and cement steps.
11. Present Condition Fair. The roof is missing some shingles. Wood rot is evident In places.
