Richardson, Planning Director SUBJECT: Consider an application for a specific use permit to allow a two-story four -unit apartment house in a RCR (Residential Conservation and Revitalization) District at 2281 Hazel. FILE: 1362-P STAFF REPORT Mr. Yomi Ogunbiyi of Rose -Wale Homes proposes to build a four -unit, two-story apartment on a 50'x 150'lot in the Oaks Historic District on Hazel between Sixth and Seventh Streets. The lot is currently vacant. Each unit will have two bedrooms and 1-1/2 baths. Since this property is located in the Oaks Historic District, a Certificate of Appropriateness for the design of the building must be approved by the Historic Landmark, Commission. Comments on items I and 8 follow: 1. The 2200 block of Hazel contains mixed residential land uses. There are apartments, a duplex, single family homes and vacant lots. The proposed four -unit apartment will be compatible with the existing land uses in the block. 8. The Comprehensive Plan designates this area as Conservation and Revitalization.
