Comments on Conditions I and 8 follow: The building erected in 1919 has always been used for business purposes but has been vacant for several years. The intersection of Magnolia and Wiess was zoned commercial under the original zoning ordinance of 1955. The operation of this business will be subject to all regulations of the Texas Funeral Service Commission, This business will be compatible in the neighborhood. 8. This area of Conservation and Revitalization has seen little in the way of private development in many years. Several old vacant structures - residential and commercial - have been demolished. Some commercial structures lie vacant in the neighborhood. The proposed mortuary and funeral home could help to revitalize the immediate area by bringing a new commercial -institutional use to a long vacant structure.
