Dear Mr. Richardson:
Subject: Beaumont South Station
Pursuant to our recent telecon, the following will address the proposed Beaumont South Station
Post Office that we are planning to relocate to a 4.56 acre tract located at the corner of Elgie
Street and Chaison Avenue. The subject facility will relocate our postal activities currently
located in the existing shopping center. The facility will contain approximately 25,000 square
feet and will allow for the use of approximately 1344 post office boxes. Adequate customer and
employee parking will be provided on site for a total of 39 customer, 85 employee, and
approximately $5 postal vehicle parking spaces.
The facility will be designed and site adapted by an architect in the Beaurnont/Houston area
using our standard interior building plans. The facade and elevations will be designed'to be
compatible with adjoining uses in the area. This facility will incorporate the Postal Service's
latest technology concerning customer service and should be a building that the community will
be proud of.
I apologize for not being available to attend the City Council meeting on such short notice,
however, I would like to offer my services to make, a presentation to the local community in the
future If they so request. I will need at least two weeks advance notice to arrange for such a
meeting and prepare exhibits accordingly.
Please feel free to contact me at (214) 8119.7213 for any further clarification
Sincerely,
arry L. Andrews
