SUBJECT: Request to abandon the cast three (T) feet of a twelve (12') foot wide drainage and
utility casement at the rear of Lots 1-4, Sheridan Park Addition,
STAFF RE' PORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval of the request to abandon 3' of the referenced
drainage and utility easement.
Mr., Toby White, the owner of Lot 1, has made this request in order to construct a swimming
pool in his rear yard at 1405 Sheridan Lane. The original platted casement was 15' wide
situated along the rear 15' of Lots I through 4. In 1992, the City Council abandoned a 3'
wide segment of the casement at the request of one of the other lot owners.
Information regarding this application was sent to applicable City departments, utility
companies and county agencies. No objections were received. There are some Entergy
lines in part of the easement, but a letter received from the Entergy right-of-way agent
indicates no problems with the abandonment request or the site of the proposed swimming
pool. There are no drainage facilities within the easement. There is another 15' wide utility
easement abutting the rear of the subject easement in the Wellington Oaks Addition.
The owners of all four lots have joined in the petition to abandon.

The east three (3) feet of an existing twelve (12) foot wide dedicated utility and drainage
easement lying along the rear twelve (12) feet of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Sheridan Park Addition
extending a length of 384.93 feet and containing 0.027 acres in area, said addition being in
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.
