Dear Planning Commission and City Council,
Two and a half years ago our Pastor and two other men, felt impressed to begin a new
Church. Now Grace Church averages over 150 in the Sunday morning services. We
have been meeting at the Hilton Hotel for two years, and are making plans to build a
permanent facility. We are in the process of purchasing 20 acres of land on Highway
105, pending a Specific Use Permit.
We are proposing to build a 12,600 sq. ft. building that would be used for Sunday
services, fellowships, and Bible study classes. Our church is a member of the Golden
Triangle Baptist Association (a group of Southern Baptist churches), and most of our
activity would be typical of other Baptist churches in our area. Our facilities would also
be made available for other community activities and organizations such as Boy Scouts
etc.
We are planning to preserve as much of the natural landscaping as possible, and intend to
leave a natural buffer of trees behind the homes of the Winderner Subdivision. It is truly
our desire to be an asset to the community, 'Thank you for your consideration.
Sinter y,
Blaine McFarlin
