HomeMy WebLinkAbout1525-ZDATE: August 21, 2000 TO: Planning Commission and City Council FROM: Stephen C. Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for a zone change from GC -MD (General Commercial -Multiple Family Dwelling) to RS (Residential Single Family Dwelling) District for two 2-acre tracts. FILE: 1525-Z STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval of the zone change to RS. Sam C. Parigi, Jr., acting as agent for Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Guillory and Mr. and Mrs. Travis Hefley, is requesting that four acres of land abutting and south of a three acre tract owned by Mr. and Mrs. Guillory be rezoned from GC -MD to RS. Mr. Guillory desires to add two acres to his side yard and the Hefley's will build a new home on the other two acres. Single family homes cannot be constructed in a GC -MD District. The City Council in January of 1998, downzoned the three acre Guillory tract from GC -MD to RS to allow him to build his home. This change will extend the RS District about 324 feet to the south.
