Fittz and Shipman, the applicants, are requesting on behalf of Correctional System, Inc. (CSI), a specific use permit to allow the expansion of its transitional treatment center. CSI has acquired a vacant church at 2435 Gulf Street. They would like to modify the structure into administrative offices and a dining area. This facility currently takes State of Texas parolees. The residents are required to work off - premise and only sleep at the facility. The facility is transitional in that it eases the residents back into society. The residents are strictly monitored and any infraction of the rules will constitute the issuance of a warrant for their arrest. Exhibits are attached.
