FILE: 163 1 -P STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends approval of the specific use permit subject to the Zoning Board of Adjustment granting of a special exception to the parking requirements. Sandra and Willie Carter, owners of Jazzy's Shopping Plaza 11 at 2205 Laurel, are operating a retail business establishment that includes a beauty salon, men's andwomen's clothing stores, snack shop, jewelry, handbag and shoe store, portrait studio, general gift shop and paintings and art shop. The previous use of this property was an office facility for a property management business. A specific use permit was issued for that use in 1997. The lighting at The Plaza does not and will not adversely affect the neighboring properties. The landscaping and lawn are maintained on a weekly basis. (Beauty shop/dress shop) the last 9years in the old town district located on Calder Street. (About three months ago). We found out that, My Husband has a health problem that limits his working conditions. We decided to open a larger shop so that we could both continue working and helping each other. We've been truly blessed with great customers. Our new business - Jazzy's shopping plaza has my hair salon alone with men and women clothing. A gift shop, photos, and a snack shop. We have cleaned the building of rodents we have cut down bushes and weeds, clean up trash. We 've added what neighbors/customers says is great. Jazzy's has a Christian environment. Our plans are to work very hard and to be successful .we love being a part of growth. And we love old town. This location is great for us. It is located just a few blocks from our church and home.
