WHEREAS, the storm sewer line that serves the area of Main Street at
Blanchette Street which crosses the Port of Beaumont's property has collapsed, and,
WHEREAS, the collapsed line is under a railroad track, causing localized street
flooding and affecting the integrity of the track, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council determines and finds that the repair of the storm
sewer line is necessary to preserve and protect the public health and safety of the
residents of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, due to the strict requirements of the operation within the Port's
property, together with the special nature of railroad track work, the Council is of the
opinion that the award of the contract to Trans -Global Solutions, Inc., of Beaumont,
Texas, the Port's preferred contractor, to perform the emergency repair in the amount of
$79,093.69 is in the best interest of the citizens of Beaumont;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT a contract is awarded to Trans -Global Solutions, Inc., of Beaumont, Texas,
in the amount of $79,093.69 for the emergency repair of a storm sewer line at the Port
of Beaumont; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute a contract with Trans -Global Solutions, Inc., of Beaumont, Texas,
for the purposes described herein.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 10th day of
August, 2021.
