Board Member Jowers seconded the motion. Motion to approve carried 4:0. PUBLIC HEARING 1) File 480-BA: A request for a variance to the 25'rear setback requirement to allow a 17'rear setback. Location: 2325 Liberty Applicant: Nancy Carlisle for Quality Care Sitter Services, Inc. Mr. Richardson stated that the subject request is for a variance to the 25' rear yard setback to allow the construction of a 17' x 34' addition to an existing building at 2325 Liberty. BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT August 1, 2002 The setback would be approximately 17' from the rear property line. Nancy Carlisle, the owner of Quality Care Sitter Service, operates her administrative offices out of this building. The subject property consists of two lots, Lot 5 and the north 87' of Lot 5. Due to the length of Lot 5, a variance will have to be granted to accommodate the expansion. On July 23, the City Council approved a specific use permit to allow the expansion subject to getting approval from the Board of Adjustment and the Historic Landmark Commission. The applicant shall have the burden of proof to demonstrate that all three conditions necessary for a variance have been met. Twenty-two notices were mailed to property owners within 200 feet. No responses in favor or in opposition were returned to staff. Slides of the subject property were shown. Chairman Harris opened the public hearing and asked for the applicant's comments. Nancy Carlisle, the applicant, addressed the Board. Chairman Harris asked for comments in favor or in opposition. No comments were made. The public hearing was closed. Discussion between the Board members followed. Board Member Guillory made a motion to approve a variance to the 25' rear setback requirement to allow a 17' rear setback 2325 Liberty as requested in File 480-BA. Board Member Roach seconded the motion. The vote on the motion to approve Pile 480-BA follows: Board Member Harris - For Board Member Jowers - For Board Member Guillory - For Board Member Roach - For The motion to approve File 480-BA carried 4:0. 19 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT August 1, 2002 OTHER BUSINESS THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 3:25 P.
