HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ2021-13DATE: February 8, 2.021 TO: Historic Landmark Commission. FROM: Demi Laney, Senior Planner SUBJECT: A request for a certificate of appropriateness to install different windows to a new construction. FILE: PZ2021-1.3 STAFF REPORT Albert LeBlanc, property owner, is asking permission to amend his original Certificate of Appropriateness in order to install different windows on a new construction. Mr. LeBlanc had already applied for a Certificate of Appropriateness in 2019 to construct a new hone located at 2250 Angelina Street and was approved. He would like to amend the approved windows from 6/1 pane to a 6/6 pane or a 1/1 pane. Mr. LeBlanc states that the 6/1 pane windows are special orders and will take anywhere between six (6) to nine (9) weeks to ship, which is why he is seeking permission to install a different style of window. Located in your packet you will see construction plans where it shows the elevation and location of the windows around the house. This property is located on a corner lot so the South and East side of the hone will be visible from the street. Staff recommends approval of the request for 6/6 pane windows but denial of the request for 1/1 pane windows. Staff observed surrounding houses along Angelina Street and concluded that 6/6 pane windows would be consistent with design of neighboring properties. This house is not in the 1990 SPADE Beaumont Survey. Exhibits are attached.
