REOUESTED Request to consider an application for a Certificate of
ACTION: Appropriateness for a property located within the Oaks
Historic District. The property in question is located at
2675 Long, City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.
The applicant is Phillip L. Chaney.
*STAFF REPORT'*
STAFF RECOA04ENDATION FILE: CA-8
Staff recommends approval of this request because the subject
property meets the established standards outlined in Section 30-21.2
regarding the historic districts.
PROJECT INFORMATION
The applicant wishes to construct an office facility spanning lots in and
out of the Oaks Historic District.
The portion of the development requiring a Certificate of
Appropriateness is the eastern 1/2 of Lot 12 which is proposed as a
driveway into an associated parking lot which shall serve the facility.
The driveway and parking lot will meet all city codes regarding parking
and landscaping and staff feels that the location of the property within
the historic district justifies leniency where parking limitations of the
historic district ordinance are concerned.
No lot may be paved without issuance of a Certificate of
Apropriateness.
