The property in question is located at 2471 Long, City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas. The applicant is Dawn Tollefson. •STAFF REPORT• STAFF RECOMMENDATION FILE CA-11 Staff recommends conditional approval of this request because the subject property meets the established standards outlined in Section 30-21.2 regarding historic districts. Conditional approval is based upon approval of a variance of the side yard setback requirement from 7.5 to 2.5 feet. This variance request is scheduled to go before the Board of Adjustment on November 4, 1993. PROJECT INFORMATION The applicants wish to demolish an existing attached one-story garage and replace same with a two-story addition consisting of a two -car garage and upstairs bedroom. Construction nor demolition have yet been initiated as the aforementioned requires Certificate of Appropriateness approval by the Historic Landmark Commission and variance approval by the Board of Adjustment. Submitted plans and elevations (attached) illustrate that the proposed addition is compatible with nearby structures and related ordinances. The applicants hope to initiate construction as soon as possible.
