STAFF REPORT
The Planning Director recommends that the Historic Landmark Commission approve
the resolution verifying the restoration work done at 2355 Harrison. The list of work
that was done is attached.
On February 13, 1995, the Historic Landmark Commission voted 5-4 to recommend
approval to City Council of a tax abatement on improvements made to 2355
Harrison. On February 21, 1995, the City Council voted 4-1-1 to approve the tax
abatement. On March 13, 1995, the Historic Landmark Commission voted 6:0 to
approve the rehabilitation work. However, due to a lack of quorum, the Historic
Landmark Commission must vote again on this matter.`
The final step in the tax abatement process is for the Historic Landmark Commission
to verify that the restoration work was substantially completed. The Historic
Landmark Commission toured the house on February 13.
Once the Commission verifies the work, the Planning Director will notify the Tax
Appraisal District to apply tax exemption status.
Exhibit is attached.
