Richardson, Planning Director SUBJECT: Request to consider an application for a historic preservation loan for exterior rehabilitation of a structure being converted to residential apartments and commercial at 400 Orleans. FILE: HCD-1.09 STAFF REPORT The PIanning Director recommends approval of this request in the amount of $20,000. The applicants have requested $100,000. Additional funding for the project will be obtained from corporate borrowing. The proposed plans involve converting the upper floor of the structure into seven loft apartments. The first floor will be converted to commercial and tenant parking. This structure was built around 1900 and was remodeled in 1940. SPARE Beaumont classifies this building as compatible with the National Register Beaumont Commercial Historic District. Provided the loan amount is approved at $20,000, the rate of repayment will be $166.67 monthly for a period of 120 months. Exhibits are attached. u u. .
