Richardson, Planning Director SUBJECT: Request to consider an application for a historic preservation loan for exterior rehabilitation of a residential structure located in the Oaks Historic District. FILE: HCD-1.11 STAFF REPORT The Planning Director recommends approval of this request in the amount of $4,600. The applicants have requested $6,000. According to bid estimates, exterior work totals $6,700. The Planning Division has granted a certificate of appropriateness for i repair and replacement of roofing, siding and windows. The applicants have purchased and are rehabilitating the house at 2226 Evalon. The house was built in 1949 and is typical of a middle income housing from that time period. The house is not listed in SPARE Beaumont but is within the boundaries of the Oaks Historic District. The house is an asset to the neighborhood. Provided the loan amount is approved at $4,600, the rate of repayment will be $191.67 monthly for a period of twenty-four (24) months. Exhibits are attached.
