The Planning Director recommends approval of this request.
The Historic -Cultural Landmark Preservation Overlay District regulations were
adopted in 1993. Since that time, it has become apparent that some fine-tuning of
the ordinance was needed.
Staff met with a sub -committee consisting of interested citizens and members of the
Historic Landmark Commission. The ordinance was reviewed and a number of
changes were suggested.
Highlights include:
- Maximum height of any structure shall be thirty-five (35) feet.
- Number of stories permitted is three (3).
- Parking on property within 100 feet of the subject property must be setback
not less than the front yard setback (current ordinance requires on rear 50%
of lot).
- No gravel parking lots are permitted.
- Maximum driveway widths are specified.
- Vinyl siding is permitted.
- Painted finish aluminum windows are permitted.
- Fences in side yards may be built up to the front of the main building.
Additions are shaded and deletions are shown as strikeouts.
Exhibits are attached.
