Richardson, Planning Director SUBJECT: Request to consider an ordinance amending Chapter 30, Section 30-21. 2., Code of Ordinances, Historic -Cultural Landmark Preservation Overlay District. FILE: 553-OB STAFF REPORT The Planning Director recommends approval of this request. The Historic -Cultural Landmark Preservation Overlay District regulations were adopted in 1993. Since that time, it has become apparent that some fine-tuning of the ordinance was needed. Staff met with a sub -committee consisting of interested citizens and members of the Historic Landmark Commission. The ordinance was reviewed and a number of changes were suggested. Highlights include: - Maximum height of any structure shall be thirty-five (35) feet. - Number of stories permitted is three (3). - Parking on property within 100 feet of the subject property must be setback not less than the front yard setback (current ordinance requires on rear 50% of lot). - No gravel parking lots are permitted. - Maximum driveway widths are specified. - Vinyl siding is permitted. - Painted finish aluminum windows are permitted. - Fences in side yards may be built up to the front of the main building. Additions are shaded and deletions are shown as strikeouts. Exhibits are attached.
