SUBJECT: Request for a certificate of appropriateness to relocate or demolish a garage
apartment located at the rear of Broussard's Funeral Home at 2000 McFaddin

The Planning Director recommends approval of this request.
This structure is located behind the Broussard Mortuary and is used as part of the funeral
business. The building has been offered to Old Town Investors for relocation. This offer is
currently under consideration by that group. If the building is not relocated, it is the desire
of Broussard's Mortuary to demolish the building.
The building is not listed in SPARE. It is of no historic or architectural significance. If the
building is removed it is the desire of the funeral home to incorporate the site into additional
parking for the business. The parking will meet all city ordinances.
