HomeMy WebLinkAboutCA-163DATE: October 14, 1996 TO: Historic Landmark Commission FROM: Stephen C. Richardson, Planning Director R2 SUBJECT: Request for determination of historic significance and approval of demolition of structure at 2627 Hazel FILE: CA-163 STAFF REPORT The Planning Director recommends that the structure at 2627 Hazel be deemed "not historically significant" and approved for demolition. This property is included in the 1991 SPARE Survey. The house is estimated to have been built c. 1920. It is of the National Folk style. SPARE stated that this structure was an example of a common house form built in Beaumont in the 1920's and 1930's. At the time of the survey, the house was in poor condition and needing major repairs, including a new roof. The house is now vacant and has deteriorated further. The condition of the house is now to the point where it is a detriment to the neighborhood. The house is a non-contributing structure in the Oaks Historic District. 21%W LLl C F l L /NE D J O M!d_r AR0 CINeOAN EYIS IRTH Sr. srI J 2 27M )SAfrAL — It Lor A e l 1 r 1 a •a - I00 .77.8 70 7D • tau i - J S• - !I ! • '•SS I ` Ell 7. r!f ' "^III ro 1 I 1 ID " I !I 8 ✓v f 1 If /7 M It tb tl It to P. 1? to I tT t. 19 JD le 1? 1Q 7 i ` I Aa H r do ST. d so i 5o M159 1 So I I y N IJ ft it 10 J 0 T 0 ? i 4 J, t 1!
