Richardson, Planning Director SUBJECT: Request to consider an application for a certificate of appropriateness to construct an addition to the side of an existing single family structure located at 2020 Harrison. FILE: CA-173 STAFF REPORT The Planning Director recommends approval of this request to construct an addition on the side of the existing single family structure. The existing structure was built c.1922. It is of the Vernacular Craftsman style and is an example of middle class housing built in the 1920's. The current owner wishes to build additional living area on the east side of the house. The addition will be compatible with the existing structure. The siding on the addition will match )- the existing siding. New windows will match the existing ones. Roofing material on the addition will match the existing shingles. This addition will be a major investment on the part of the property owners. It will greatly enhance the existing structure as well as the neighborhood. Exhibits are attached.
