Richardson, Planning Director SUBJECT: Request for determination of historic significance and a certificate of appropriateness for the removal or demolition of a structure at 2075-2085 North St. FII,E: CA-183 STAFF REPORT This structure is located just west of Broussard's Mortuary and is owned by the mortuary. Plans are underway to expand the business and this property is needed for that expansion. With this expansion, Broussard's Mortuary will be able to continue business at its present location in the Oaks Historic District. The SPARE survey states that this duplex was built c. 1928 and is of the Vernacular Craftsman Style. It is described as a fine example of multi -family housing built to accommodate the growing population in Beaumont in the 1920's. The structure appears to be in good condition and is well -maintained. The duplex is a contributing structure in the Oaks Historic District. Exhibits are attached.
