STAFF REPORT
Brenda Jenkins, owner of Sweet Magnolias Flower and Gift Shop, is wishing to install a 32" x 70"
shingle sign underneath the awning of the Fertitta Building. Ms. Jenkins recently opened this business
and needs the sign for business identification,
The sign will have burgandy copy on a peach background. These colors will match the colors found
on the exterior of the Fertitta Building.
A rendering drawn by Kevin Milstead, Texas Historical Commission architect, shows signs above the
is
doors and windows on the building. The Texas Historical Commission encourages shingle type signs
catering to pedestrians. Mr. Milstead has reviewed this sign and thinks that it is appropriate for the
building.
