Because of a lack of a quorum, a workshop was held on amending those parts of Section 30-21.1 which
deal with the painting of structures in the historic district.
Steve Richardson stated that the paint sub -committee met last month and discussed ways to make it
mandatory for people to come in to get a Certificate of Appropriateness when painting a house. Mr.
Richardson spoke with the Building Official about requiring a building permit for painting. He would
recommend there would be no a charge for this permit.
Mr. Richardson discussed the suggested amendments and asked if the Board members were comfortable
with the suggestions. A recommendation was made to change the allowed number of him colors from
5 to 3. Acceptable color ranges were discussed. Mr. Richardson said that he would review the proposed
draft with the Assistant City Attorney.
Mr. Richardson stated that he would bring these amendments to the Historic Landmark Commission,
Planning Commission and City Council in the near future.
Some discussion was held on the tour pamphlet. Mr. Richardson said that he will get in touch with Jeff
} Russell to talk about possible funding.
With no further discussion, the workshop session ended.
