STAFF REPORT
Mr. Calixto Hernandez, applicant, is requesting a certificate of appropriateness for exterior
renovations at 2660 North St. These renovations include replacing all rotten boards,
installing new windows and doors, applying Hardiplank fiber -cement, 8" Colonial
Roughsawn lap siding with a 6 3/4" exposure, painting and re -roofing. The use of this
siding is contingent upon amending the historic district regulations to allow this type of
siding. if this amendment is not made, the applicant proposes using 4'x8' wood fiber
exterior siding with horizontal grooves 4" apart. The exterior will be painted a Sherwin
Williams custom -mixed beige (a sample will be provided at the meeting). The house will
be re -roofed with a basic brown composition shingle. The windows are aluminum with
a milled finish. Some windows are single paned, top and bottom, while others have
multiple lights.
The City cited this structure as substandard. Mr. Hernandez is renovating the property
under a work order issued by the City's Clean Community Department. Some work had
been done without a certificate of appropriateness.
This structure is not listed in the SPARE Beaumont Survey.
