Richardson, Planning Director SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness for the construction of a new house FILE: CA-355 Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Manvel, property owners, wish to build a 1,735 sq. ft. one story house at 2674 Hazel. The 2 bedroom brick house will be of a traditional style. Windows will be aluminum frame with a bronze finish. The Historic District regulations say that the frames of windows should be trimmed in a manner typical of the style of the building. The house will be roofed with asphalt shingles. The house will be bricked with "Old Chicago" brick and the trim will be painted beige to compliment the brick (samples will be available at the meeting). A single carport will be located at the rear of the structure. The houses in the immediate vicinity are a mixture of brick and wood frame. . As submitted, the house is situated 18 feet from the front property line. 25 feet is required. The applicants must receive a variance to the required setback from the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
