Richardson, Planning Manager SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to construct lattice -work around a front porch. FILE: CA-515 STAFF REPORT The Planning Manager recommends that the two large panels on the south and west sides of the front porch be removed. The two large panels detract from the appearance of the house. The applicant has installed two lattice -work panels on the south and west sides of the front porch of his home located at 2234 Evalon, He has also installed lattice -work trim at the top of the front parch. The Zoning Ordinance states, "A front entrance or porch may not be enclosed with any material, including iron bars, glass or mesh screening without a certificate of appropriateness. The lattice -work was installed without a certificate of appropriateness and staff notified Mr. Haynes, the property owner, on September 15, 2000, that he was in violation. On September 20, Mr. Haynes applied for the certificate of appropriateness. Exhibits are attached.
