SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to enclose the front porch
of the house located at 2245 Laurel with screening

STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval of this request.
During routine inspection of the Historic District, staff noticed that the front porch of the
residence at 2245 Laurel had been screened. In discussions with the property owner, it
was found out that the porch had been screened since 1998.
Staff feels that the screening is hardly noticeable and does not detract from or alter the
structure.
The house is listed in the 1990 SPARE Beaumont. The house was built pre-1920 and is
of the Vernacular Craftsman style.
