SUBJECT: Request for approval of a certificate of appropriateness to paint the house and pour a
driveway and parking area at the front of the house
FILE: CA-728
STAFF REPORT
The Planning Manager recommends approval of the paint colors but denial of the driveway and
parking area.
Antonio Arellano, the property owner, would like to paint his house at 2193 Pecos Glidden's
"Welsh Green" (90GY) with Glidden's `Bicentennial" (30GG) as the trim color. The house
would be painted a pale green with a dark green trim.
Mr. Arellano is also seeking permission to build a 20' wide driveway and parking area in the front
yard (see diagram). The front section of the chain link fence would have to be removed. The
original garage is at the rear of the house and fronts on 6' Street. The garage was built at the
property line. There is approximately 20' of right-of-way between the pavement and the front
of the garage. Mr. Arellano states that parking in front of the garage is very tight.
The house is listed in the SPARE Beaumont survey. The house was built c. 1925.
Exhibits are attached.
